SOUTH & WEST

Jacksonville: Is the commercial hub of Onslow County and home to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River. The city offers major retail such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy and and the Jacksonville Mall. Jacksonville is a 25 minute drive west on Highway 24.

Topsail Island: Is a 26-mile-long barrier island. The island is located in both Onslow and Pender counties and consists of three towns: North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach. The two mainland towns of Sneads Ferry and Holly Ridge complete the section known as the Greater Topsail Area. Topsail Island is a 30 minute drive Sout on Highway 17.

Wilmington: The city has more than 65,000 residents and is home to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It is also home to a regional visual and performing arts center, a regional medical center and to Screen Gems Studios - North Carolina, one of the largest motion picture and television studios outside of Hollywood. Wilmington is an 1:20 minute drive south on Highway 17.

NORTH & EAST

Morehead City: Centrally located on north carolina's crystal coast. the morehead city waterfront is home to 1 of 2 state ports and is well known for its hospitality, fishing, and of course seafood. The area offers plenty for tourist from boardwalk boutiques, and antique shops to tours of Fort Macon and the North Carolina Maritime Museum. Carteret County, home to Beaufort, Morehead City, Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle provides entertainment for all ages, from bowling, swimming, putt putt, boat charters and rentals to 9 area golf courses, all located within 1 hours drive. Morehead City is a 25 minute drive east on Highway 24.

Beaufort: Founded in 1709, our town is the third oldest in the state. Originally a Port of Entry and fishing village, Beaufort has a rich maritime history. Our historic waterfront district along Taylor’s Creek offers visitors the opportunity to dine and shop while enjoying views of feral horses on Carrot Island and boats from all over the world at the Beaufort Docks. Water ferries transport visitors to nearby Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks. Tour the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and walk the tree lined streets of our historic neighborhoods. Whatever you decide to do, I am sure that you will find Beaufort as “Delightfully Different” as we do.- Beaufort Mayor, Ann Carter Beaufort is a 30 minute drive east on Highway 24 and North on Highway 70.

New Bern: Founded in 1710, New Bern was settled by Swiss and German adventurers led by Baron Christopher de Graffenried from Bern, Switzerland. Royal Governor William Tryon made this seaport the colonial capitol. His restored 18th-century capitol and residence, Tryon Palace, dominates a thirteen-acre garden complex that includes several historical landmarks in the heart of the city. A major port and trading center in the 1800's, New Bern was captured and occupied by the Union Army after a fierce battle on March 14, 1862. New Bern has three historic districts with homes, stores, and churches dating as far back as the early 18th century. In fact, there are 36 individual listings and more than 150 sites included in the National Register of Historic Places. New Bern is a 45 minute drive North on Highway 17.
